Dental Implants

A dental implant is a great option to replace missing teeth. A dental implant is a titanium root replacement that is surgically placed into the bone beneath the gum tissue. An implant allows your dentist to place a crown, or in the case of several missing teeth, a bridge in that area. The success of an implant relies on the quantity and quality of the bone where the implant is to be placed. In many cases, a bone graft may need to be completed  to improve the appearance and increase the success of the implant(s).

How can we help you: Dr. Hansen will refer you to an oral surgeon or periodontist that specialize in the surgical placement of implants. Dr. Hansen will work closely with the specialist to insure the best possible outcome for function and appearance. After the recommended healing time, Dr. Hansen will restore the area with crowns or bridgework.  Dental implants function like your natural teeth and require the same care, so routine follow-up care is important.
